Veterans' Preference policy

Veterans who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces and were honorably discharged may receive Veterans' Preference for Marine Corps Intelligence positions, which can provide an advantage over non-veteran applicants. This applies to both permanent and temporary roles, as per Section 2108 of Title 5 U.S.C. and DoD Instruction 1400.25.

Military retirees

Retired service members cannot be appointed to Marine Corps Intelligence positions within 180 days of retirement unless authorized by the service secretary or the position is eligible for special pay under 5 U.S.C. 5305. A waiver may be requested if selected. We encourage veterans to apply and take advantage of Veterans' Preference for Marine Corps intelligence career opportunities.
